Drug addiction is a path to degradation.

A preventive event on the topic "Combating the Illegal Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances, and Potent Medications" was held at the Faculty of Economics of the Andijan Institute of Mechanical Engineering.

The event, organized to ensure the implementation of the "National Strategy" for combating drug addiction and drug-related crimes in the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2024-2025, was attended by professors, teachers, and students.

Speakers at the event included Jamoldin Mansurov, an official from the Andijan regional administration; Mukhriddin Zaynobiddinov, an employee of the Criminal Investigation Department of the regional Internal Affairs Directorate; Bakhtiyor Yusupov, a doctor and narcologist from the regional narcological dispensary; and Lieutenant Mukhammadrasul Abdupattaev, a prevention inspector from the Andijan city department for coordinating internal affairs activities.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances pose a serious threat to human health and safety, negatively impact the economic and spiritual foundations of society, and are often inextricably linked to organized crime, which further increases their social danger. It was particularly noted that the majority of victims of these drugs are young people.

A video relevant to the topic was shown during the event.

Field experts provided detailed answers to questions asked by the participants.
