5,000 steps walked for a healthy life

In accordance with the instructions given by the Head of State on ensuring the popularity of sports and promoting a healthy lifestyle among the population, a mass walking marathon was organized at the Andijan Machine-Building Institute under the slogan "5,000 steps with the rector for a healthy life."

More than a hundred leaders, staff members, professors, teachers, and students of the institute participated in the walking marathon, which started from the building of the Automotive Faculty.

It is gratifying that all students are showing physical activity in the marathon.

It is known that walking is considered the easiest and most convenient of all types of sports. It doesn't require a lot of energy expenditure, yet its positive effect is very high.

According to experts, just 2.5 hours of physical activity per week reduces the risk of premature death by 28% and the likelihood of heart disease by 20%. In other words, people who are physically active for at least 150 minutes a week are considered healthier than those who are less active.
