Advanced engineering schools to be developed in cooperation with higher educational institutions of Rostov region

First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Shokhrukh Daliyev met with the rectors of higher educational institutions in the Rostov region.
The meeting was attended by Besarion Mesxi, Rector of Don State Technical University, Inna Shevchenko, Rector of Southern Federal University, and from the Uzbek side, Academician Sadriddin Turobjonov, Rector of Tashkent State Technical University, and Umid Turdialiyev, Rector of Andijan Machine-Building Institute.

The parties emphasized that the cooperation mechanism, namely direct contacts between the regions of Uzbekistan and Russia, is directly contributing to the expansion of inter-university ties.


"The sphere of higher education holds a special place among the areas of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia," said Sh. Daliyev. "Currently, 14 branches of Russian higher educational institutions are operating in the Republic of Uzbekistan. We are now placing great importance on scientific and technical cooperation in engineering and technical fields."


During the meeting, views were exchanged on efforts aimed at developing high-tech sectors of the economy and establishing advanced engineering schools at Uzbekistan's higher educational institutions in cooperation with leading Russian universities to train personnel for these sectors.


Furthermore, during the discussion, the Russian side proposed opportunities for expanding contacts between researchers of the two countries, publishing joint scientific articles, and launching promising projects in areas such as training young scientists in biotechnology and nuclear physics.
