A round table discussion was organized at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Technology of the Andijan Machine-Building Institute on the topic "Protecting Youth from Extremism and Terrorism - a Factor of Stability!".
The event featured presentations by Anvarjon Islamov, the Rector's Advisor responsible for ensuring the stability of the socio-spiritual environment among the institute's students; Shokhrukh Mirzajonov, Deputy Head of the Department for Coordinating the Activities of Internal Affairs of Andijan city; Azamkhon Muzrobkhonov, Chief Specialist of the Committee on Religious Affairs for Andijan city; Umidjon O'tbosarov, an employee of the Anti-Terrorism Department of the Andijan city Internal Affairs Directorate; and Major Izzatillo Qahhorov, the institute's Prevention Inspector.
The speakers at the event used real-life examples to illustrate that in today's highly developed era of globalization and information exchange, certain groups with various political goals are widely spreading destructive ideas on the Internet. These ideas aim to accumulate wealth through the dissemination of religious-extremist ideologies and promote human trafficking, drug addiction, terrorism, and religious extremism.
It was also emphasized that in such a challenging time, one of the most important tasks facing our society and intellectuals is to protect the youth of our country from religious extremist and various alien ideas, as well as manifestations of "mass culture."
Additionally, examples of crimes committed by students in higher educational institutions and their consequences were presented, calling for vigilance.
During the event, a video film on the topic, recommended by specialists, was shown.
