A literary and cultural event was held on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the birth of the popular artist, national poet of Uzbekistan, Muhammad Yusuf, at Muhammad Yusuf Square in Andijan.
Poets and writers, fans of literature, teachers, pupils and students of secondary schools, higher educational institutions, representatives of the general public, and creative young people took part in the event, which was organized in cooperation with the regional administration and the regional branch of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan.
In particular, the rector of the Andijan Mechanical Engineering Institute, vice-rectors, faculty deans and students actively participated.
At the beginning of the event, the participants laid wreaths at the foot of the bust of Muhammad Yusuf and showed high respect to the late poet.
Speaking at the event, regional governor Shuhratbek Abdurahmanov noted that the poet's life and work, especially his unique lines glorifying the country and high human qualities, have taken a firm place in the hearts of our people, and the poet's poems serve to further strengthen the feelings of patriotism and devotion to the country in the hearts of our people and youth.
This event enriched the participants' interest in literature, poetry, and the imagination of the poet's work, and left an unforgettable impression on their hearts.
At the event, samples of the poet's poems, as well as poems dedicated to the poet were read by creative and amateur youth, and songs sung with the poet's poems were played by artists.
