Tribute to the great poet

The unique poetic thinking of Makhtumkuli Firoghi, who is the pride of the Turkmen people and the mirror of their spirituality, and his contribution to the treasure of world poetry is no less than the share of the most prolific poets in the West and East. This erudite, wise poet is the crown and jewel in the crown of his nation.

In fact, this unique poet is considered the favorite poet not only of the Turkmen people, but also of the people of the whole world, including the Uzbek people. There is not a single household in our country where the poems of the classic poet and the songs based on them have not entered, and there is not a single Uzbek who does not know his name.

This year marks the 300th anniversary of his birth. In this regard, according to the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, on February 19, 2024, "On the wide celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Makhtumquli Firoghi", various cultural and educational events, creative meetings, and roundtable discussions are being held in all institutions.
An event was held at the Andijan Mechanical Engineering Institute on the occasion of Makhtumkuli's birthday.

Speakers who spoke at the event talked about the life and work of Makhtumquli Firoghi, his place in the history of world literature and culture. It was noted that his poems find a way to the heart of any person with their unique philosophy, description of the world, and unique spiritual tone.

The students performed excerpts from the poet's life and work, stage performances based on his works, poems and wise words on various topics, and demonstrated his great humanitarian education.
