The poet who sang his people with drums

In the Information Resource Center of the Andijan Mechanical Engineering Institute, a literary and artistic evening was held on the occasion of the 121st anniversary of the birth of the great representative of Uzbek literature, the national poet of Uzbekistan, academician Gafur Ghulam, on the topic "The poet who sang his people with drums".

Students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering participated in it.

B. Mominov, senior teacher of the Department of Uzbek Literature and Linguistics of Andijan State University, M. Khaliqova, head of the Department of Work with Youth, Spirituality and Enlightenment of the institute, H. Maksudova, head of the Department of Uzbek Language and Literature, M. Khasanova, teacher of Uzbek Language and Literature, spoke at the event.

It was noted that the history of the Uzbek people found its artistic expression in the poetry and prose of Gafur Ghulam, and the author's creativity consisted of poems, songs, epics, odes, stories, short stories. It was noted that Gofur Ghulam's work in the post-war period took an incomparable place in the development of Uzbek literature, as well as his skillful translation into Uzbek of the works of Pushkin, Lermontov, Griboyedov, Mayakovsky, Nazim Hekmet, Rustaveli, Nizami, Shakespeare, Dante, Beaumarchais and others.

During the event, students read from the works of the artist and expressed their opinions about his works.
