The Sumalak festival was held at the Faculty of Intelligent Management and Computer Systems

Last days of February. Winter is behind us, giving way to spring, the season of living and renewal.

With the arrival of spring, the Uzbek people start preparing national spring dishes and sharing them with each other. It's not for nothing. Nature is renewed in this season. Spring dishes prepared from nature's bounties during Koklam give energy to the human body, add strength to the body, and raise the mood.

Yesterday, one of the most ancient events of the Uzbek people, "Sumalak Sayli", was held at the Faculty of Intellectual Management and Computer Systems of the Andijan Institute of Mechanical Engineering.

All professors and students of the faculty took part in the election.


Sumac was boiled in a cauldron installed in the courtyard of the faculty. The boys prepared soup, and the girls prepared dishes such as blue somsa, blue dumplings, and manti served on the Navruz table.


National songs, speeches and dances performed by students around Sumalak, which was held until the evening, added a special charm to the election.
