At the Andijan Mechanical Engineering Institute, as part of the “Read Together” project, the “Reader’s Duel” competition was held.
16 student readers took part in the competition, organized jointly with the press service of the institute, the Information Resource Center, the department for youth affairs, spirituality and education and the primary organization of the institute’s Youth Union.
The first round of the competition included “The Sorrows of the Young Wind” by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, “The Funeral of the Great Mother” by Gabriel García Márquez, “Scorpion from the Altar” by Abdullah Kadiri, “Night in Lisbon” by Erich Maria Remarque, “A Boy with Five Children” by Khudoiberdi Tokhtaboev, “Confession” by Leo Tolstoy, “Stepmother” by Akhmad Lutfiy Kazanchi and “Animal Farm” by George Orwell. They expressed their opinions about the books.
According to the final conclusion of the judges, Odina Khaidarova, Mukhiddin Tolkinov, Umidjon Nomonov, Zarnigor Solieva, Dilobar Joraeva, Oltinoy Rakhmatova, Bunyod Yusupov and Muslima Salokhiddinova left behind their duelists and advanced to the next stage.
In the next round, readers will compete for the works “Between Two Doors” by Utkir Khashimov, “The Stranger” by Albert Camus, “I Am Malala” by Malala Yusafzai and “The Imam’s Model Girl” by Omina Shenlikoguly.
