Most of us are used to waking up in the morning and planning our activities for the day at certain hours and minutes. Walking from home to work, we measure distance, length, and width as needed. We make an imaginary calculation of when and where we should be and move based on that. In fact, everything around us has its measure. As people's need for accurate measurement grows, so do the tasks and responsibilities of industry professionals. In particular, in recent years a number of positive activities in the field of national metrology to ensure the uniformity of measurements and achieve their international recognition have been carried out. The volume of scientific research in this area is increasing and the technologies used are developing in accordance with the needs of the time.
On 18 May of the current year the international scientific-practical conference "Metrology in science and production of the 21st century" was held at the Andijan Machine-building Institute on the occasion of "the World Metrology Day" on May 20. This conference was attended by professors and lecturers of foreign countries and our country, specialists, doctoral candidates, researchers and research associates, as well as talented students and postgraduates of higher educational institutions.
First, Rector of the Andijan Institute of Mechanical Engineering Umid Mukhtoralievich opened the conference with an introductory speech. After the introduction, the Vice-Rector of the Institute S.R. Aliev congratulated the conference participants on the "World Metrology Day".
After that, the leadership of the National Metrology Institute of Uzbekistan, specialists from Andijan, Samarkand, Fergon, Namangan, Navoi regional branches, metrology specialists from more than 20 joint ventures in Andijan, management and staff of the Uz-test scientific testing and certification center attended the conference, including the director of the National Metrological Institute of Uzbekistan L.F.Saidoripov, head of the department for coordination and development of regional branches of the UzMMI T.Yusupov, G.M.Akhmedov from the Institute of Standardization, Zh.A.Ergashev from the Tashkent branch of the UzMMI, associate professor of the Andijan Machine-Building Institute Zhoraev Z.B. , Professor of the Andijan State Medical Institute Gurbanov Sh.P., Jamolov V.Sh. from the Navoi branch of the Uzbek State Medical Institute, Vahobova S.K. from the Namangan branch of the Uzbek State Medical Institute, Nurmukhammadov U.O. from the Samarkand branch of the UzGMI, as well as professors from the Alma-Ata Technological University, the Portuguese Technological University of Setubal, the Turin Polytechnic University of Italy, the production director of the Japanese Metallurgical Company, who took part in the online conference "Problems of the development of modern metrology and methodological foundations for the organization of the metrological service" , “In foreign economic activity “The need to ensure the uniformity of measurements”, “Measurements in mechanical engineering and the textile industry.

After the discussions, the participants who took an active part in the conference were awarded certificates and souvenirs, and the plenary session of the conference ended.
