Institute professors and students visited Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University as part of an internship

St. Petersburg Peter the Great Polytechnic University (SPbPU), which is one of the top three universities in Russia and for many years has maintained a high range of 301-350 in THE world ranking, is one of the reliable foreign partners of the Andijan Machine-building Institute (AndMI). Within the framework of realization of cooperation agreement between two higher educational institutions from April 5 till April 30, 2023 employees and students were invited to the training program "Advanced manufacturing technologies of material processing" and to participate in the Decade Forum "International Polytechnic Week".

Kholmatov Oybek and Dumakhonov Furkatbek from the institute's faculty and five students came to SPbPU to participate in the hackathon: Ziodillo Mominov, Hamidullo Karimov, Samandar Inomjonov, Sardor Nabiev, and Temurmalik Mamurov. It should be noted that all participants of the training in SPbPU were warmly welcomed by the university staff and expressed their willingness to communicate.

Meetings with the heads of the following departments and leading specialists were held in a short time.

- Department of International Interuniversity Cooperation;

- The Higher School of Automation and Robotics;

- The Higher School of Transport;

- The Higher School of Physics and Technology of Materials;

- Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Materials and Transport;

- OMEGABOT, an organization working with software modules and robotic platform.

At the same time, training on the course "Advanced Manufacturing Technologies of Materials Processing" is underway, as well as preparations for the engineering and robotics hackathon "Recathon," which will be held during the Tenth Anniversary International Polytechnic Week. The first step in preparation for the hackathon was to choose a team name and register on the LeaderID platform. After a long discussion, it was decided to choose the team name STX.UZ, representing the initials of the name of each hackathon participant. This domain STX.UZ was booked and it was planned to create a platform on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The platform will soon become a single information portal for the organization of various tournaments and hackathons, where the most enterprising young people and fans of their specialty will compete with each other.

The schedule of the delegation turned out to be very rich and effective. During the negotiations with Ekaterina Belyaevskaya, Head of International Interuniversity Cooperation, the following issues of interuniversity cooperation were discussed:

- Increasing the number of staff for training and additional training of IMI staff in SPbPU;

- Organization of reciprocal visits and lectures by leading experts on the basis of the institutes;

- Preparation of documents for the opening of joint graduate education in two master's specialties;

- Participation in international scientific conferences and publication of articles;

- Invitation of students and staff of IMI to the summer camp courses at SPbPU;

- Requirements for admission to the ranks of SPbPU undergraduate and graduate students and issues of defending PhD theses at the SPbPU Academic Council;

- Invitation to participate in the University's Digital Research Leadership digitization program.

As a result of negotiations on the above tasks, a new cooperation agreement (memorandum) was discussed and submitted for approval. The support of the energetic staff of the International Department should also be noted: we thank Maria Viktorovna Zhidkova and Maria Viktorovna Grudina for the excellent organization of the delegation members' visit and the sightseeing tour of SPbPU.
