For reference: The UNESCO UNITWIN program was established in 1992 in accordance with a resolution adopted at the 26th session of the UNESCO General Conference (1991). The program supports the organization of UNIWIN cooperation programs in UNESCO and higher education institutions. The UNITWIN program covers academic training, research and exchange and offers a platform for knowledge exchange in all areas of UNESCO's mandate. Most projects are interdisciplinary and intersectoral, involve all sectors of UNESCO's programme, and actively cooperate with branch offices, institutes and centers. It plays an important role in promoting the program at the national level, contributing to its implementation and evaluation.

As part of a contract with Korea International University Handong, which is UNESCO's regional coordinator for UNITWIN, and as part of an ongoing long-term project, from this year, in order to enhance the scientific and pedagogical capacity of the Institute's faculty members, regular free online trainings will be conducted by experienced foreign professors. Over the next 4 years, the plan is to visit the institute twice a year and give free offline lessons to students as part of the project. Such visits will further increase the institute's ranking in the local and foreign arenas and further improve the quality of education.
