On May 30, 2022 at the Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) the European Union's Erasmus + CBHE program MechaUZ - "Modernization of undergraduate education in Uzbekistan in the field of mechatronics and robotics on the basis of innovative ideas and technologies" has started its meeting activities. The main purpose of the 3rd project meeting which run for a week, is to conduct trainings and workshops in the field of "Robotics and Mechatronics" organized by the European Union HEIs in the consortium for Uzbek higher education institutions and to get acquainted with industrial enterprises in Lithuania. All 13 members of the meeting, 6 European universities: (International Hellenic University (Thessaloniki, Greece) - Project Coordinator, Southeast European Research Center (Thessaloniki, Greece), Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Vilnius, Lithuania), University of Liepaja (Liepaja, Latvia) ), Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences (Valmiera, Latvia), Viano do Castello Polytechnic Institute (Viano do Castello, Portugal) and 6 universities in Uzbekistan: Andijan machine-building institute (Andijan), Turin Polytechnic University University (Tashkent) , Fergana Polytechnic Institute (Fergana), Tashkent University of Information Technologies (Tashkent), Karshi Engineering and Economics Institute (Karshi), Tashkent State Technical University (Tashkent) and Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ministry officials are attending the seminar and trainings.

At the opening ceremony of the seminar training the rector of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University prof. dr. Romualdas Kliukas delivered a speech and wished success to the project participants. After that, the Dean of the University’s Faculty of Mechanics, Justinas Gargasas, spoke and thanked the participants for their visit. He noted that all necessary conditions will be created for the participants of the project during their stay in Vilnius.

Project Coordinator Anastasios Ntabizas introduced the agenda to the project participants. Aušra Pelÿdienÿ, Director of the International Relations Department of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, introduced the participants to the university by giving a presentation about VILNIUS TECH University and its international relations focus.

Furthermore, WP2 with the participation of Thomas Tomidis (Hellenic University International University, Greece) with the participation of project coordinator in the implementation of curricula, information on education, mechatronics and robotics in the framework of the development of the new BSc program was discussed.

PS: At the end of the seminar and training, all project participants will be awarded certificates by Vilnius Gediminas Technical University.
